BALLOON INFLATING ADVICE SHEET

Before your balloon gas is delivered or collected please consider where you would like it stored, bearing in mind the cylinders are reasonably heavy. You should use the gas in a well-ventilated area so try to store the gas as conveniently as possible.

When your cylinder of gas arrives or is collected check that you have been given the right size(s). Also check that you have the correct filling kit. The kit should be either a latex filling kit, which has a flexible rubber nozzle as shown in diagram 3 of 'Balloon Gas Operating Instructions' or a new universal filling kit.

For inflation of balloons follow instructions 1-6 on 'Balloon Gas Operating Instructions'. These instructions are sent with your balloons and tickets.

It is important not to over-inflate the balloons. Advice on sizing the balloons will be sent with your balloons and tickets. Please remember to warm the balloons by gently rubbing and stretching before inflation. This will reduce the chances of balloons bursting.

When the balloon is inflated it can then be knotted by hand or sealed using a machine which we can supply. Please phone for details.

When each balloon is knotted or sealed, pull the neck through the hole in the ticket.

Balloons remain airborne for an average time of 6-7 hours but for the best results we recommend releasing within an hour of inflation.

If a release net is used ensure that the balloons remain dry. Damp tickets add to the weight and reduce the distance travelled.

To give you an approximate idea of the length of time it takes to inflate, seal and 'ticket' the balloons, two people should be able to prepare 150 balloons in an hour from one cylinder.

When the cylinder is not being used it is important to turn off the valve to ensure that no leakage occurs.
